The University of Groningen (RUG) is researching the importance of darkness for humans and nature. A dedicated network is used to measure how dark it still is in the Netherlands. Now the UG is asking for your help: count the stars in the Orion constellation and contribute to this important research. The measurements will take place from Tuesday, January 21st, to Wednesday, February 5th, and from Thursday, February 20th, to Thursday, March 6th.
Innokite is a new incubator program launched at the MXT Conference in Northern Netherlands, supporting knowledge-intensive startups in Digital & DeepTech, MedTech & HealthTech, and Energy Transition & CleanTech. The program provides entrepreneurs with startup guidance through Acceleration Bursts, expert mentorship, and access to a network of investors and collaborators.
After nearly a decade of supporting startups, VentureLab North closed its doors at the end of December 2024. This not only marks the end of a successful period but also the start of a new chapter with the launch of Innokite at the MXT Conference on January 15, 2025. Campus Groningen thanks VentureLab North for the wonderful collaboration and wishes Innokite much success!
At the end of last month, an exciting development took place for a startup at Campus Groningen! Future Tech Ventures invested in IonIQs, a startup that has developed a sustainable technology to efficiently extract lithium from wastewater. Lithium is a scarce and essential material for high-performance batteries, but the current extraction and purification process results in significant water waste worldwide.
