During the finals of the Self Driving Challenge 2025, held on Thursday, June 12 at the RDW Test Center in Lelystad, student teams from the northern Netherlands made a strong impression on the event. The team from the Hanze Digital Society Hub took first place in the closed category. The team from the University of the North earned an impressive second place in the open category. Fontys University of Applied Sciences ultimately won this category convincingly.

Groningen based EdTech scale-up MemoryLab has been awarded first place in the Digital category at the NL Startup Competition 2025. On Sunday, May 25, the city of Groningen will be transformed into the stage for the Groningen Half Marathon, powered by Campus Groningen. With nearly 10,000 runners at the starting line, it’s a major event. But what many participants don’t realize is that behind the scenes, an army of volunteers is hard at work. One of the driving forces is Toon de Vries, a coach at Groningen Atletiek and a member of the event committee.

Running is popular, and in the run-up to the Groningen Half Marathon, powered by Campus Groningen, runners are everywhere, on campus and throughout the city. Some are training for the full 21 kilometers, others for the 5 or 10 kilometer race, or the 2.5 km Kids Run. Among them are members of Loopgroep gRunn, a spirited running group based in Groningen. On Sunday, May 25, several of them will take part in the event.
