How do you build growth together? By meeting each other—just as happened last night during the Campussen Dinner 2025. The gathering, held in the inspiring setting of Niemeyer in Groningen, brought together more than 100 frontrunners, partners, entrepreneurs, scientists, and policymakers for an evening fully dedicated to connecting for growth and celebrating three important milestones. Attendees reflected on one year of the Campus Coalition, five years of the Campus Community Fund, and the ten-year anniversary of Campus Groningen.

Na het welkomstwoord van Carine Bloemhoff gaf Hans Biemans (vicevoorzitter College van Bestuur, RUG) in zijn keynote een toelichting op de nieuwe generatie campussen en de belangrijke rol die ze speelt bij het stimuleren van innovatie en samenwerking. “De nieuwe generatie campussen vormt een ecosysteem waar kennis, bedrijven en gebiedsontwikkeling samenkomen. Pas wanneer deze drie werelden elkaar versterken, ontstaat de innovatiekracht die onze grote transities vooruit helpt”.
Na een gezamenlijk diner aan tafel werd het programma vervolgd met een Q&A met Rinke Zonneveld, CEO van Invest-NL. In interactie met het publiek en de dagvoorzitter benadrukte Zonneveld het belang van blended financiering voor een innovatieve regio. De afsluiter van de avond was een reeks thematische pitches van koplopers uit de industrie binnen de domeinen Digital, Health, Energie, Engineering en Groene Chemie.
De pitch van Ton Vries over de toekomst van groene chemie eindigde met een ondertekening van het 10x10x10 convenant. Twintig noordelijke ondernemers uit de chemische industrie bundelen hun krachten voor een duurzame toekomst. In de komende tien jaar investeren zij samen €10 miljoen per jaar in de realisatie van minimaal tien showcase-fabrieken: goed voor een totale investeringswaarde van ruim €1 miljard.
De aanwezige community bouwde voort op een waardevolle traditie van ontmoeting, die eerder werd neergezet via de Campus Diners, Drivers for Growth-bijeenkomsten en ontmoetingen rondom het Campus Community Fund. De energie van de avond zorgde voor nieuwe gesprekken,
Ineke Yska, manager Campus Coalitie: “Het Campussen Diner laat zien hoe krachtig onze regio is als mensen en organisaties echt samenwerken. Van inspirerende ideeën tot concrete plannen: dit is de energie die innovatie en groei aanjaagt. Samen bouwen we niet alleen aan vandaag, maar ook aan de toekomst van Noord-Nederland.”
Het Campussen Diner werd mede mogelijk gemaakt door de partners van de Campus Coalitie en het Campussen-netwerk. Samen vormen zij het fundament onder de innovatieve kracht van Noord-Nederland en ondersteunen zij de gezamenlijke ambitie om te blijven investeren in groei, talent, onderzoek en ondernemerschap.
Who is developing the most impactful innovation in Life Sciences & Health in the Northern Netherlands? Five companies are in the running for the LIFE Science Innovation Award 2026: Flux Robotics, Limosa Immunodiagnostics, SPCTR, MimeCure and GlycanScan International. The nominees will present their innovations on Tuesday 22 September during the fifth edition of the LIFE Science Conference in Groningen. An independent jury will select the winner, who will receive a €10,000 cash prize.
A much-loved tradition The Campus Trail has become a much-loved tradition on campus. Students, employees and professionals from companies and organisations across the campus ecosystem lace up their running shoes for a sporty 6.4-kilometre route through buildings and past some of the campus’s unique labs. The rapid growth in registrations shows just how much the Campus Trail has become part of the campus community. The combination of sport, meeting others and the unique campus setting makes the run a great opportunity to connect with people outside the usual work and study environment. And there’s no need to head home as soon as you cross the finish line. During the after-party, hosted by Contini Catering, participants can relax together, enjoy a drink and celebrate the afternoon.
