From 5 to 17 January 2026, work will be carried out to connect Linnaeusborg on Zernike Campus to WarmteStad's sustainable heating network. This will require pipes to be laid under Nijenborgh road. Linnaeusborg will therefore be temporarily accessible via a diversion route.
The construction of the final section of the Feringa Building of the University of Groningen has reached a new milestone: the Friso-Koopmans construction consortium achieved the highest point of the second phase (approx. 10,500 m² GFA) last week. With this milestone, the completion of the Feringa Building - one of the largest and most advanced university buildings in the Netherlands - is one step closer.
Construction work at Bloemsingel 1 in Groningen has been underway for some time. The building, which will become the permanent home of University College Groningen (UCG), is undergoing a thorough renovation and sustainability upgrade. Additionally, new construction is being added to the north side, designed by architecture firm Elephant / Taller. Last week, contractor Hegeman B.V. from Nijverdal began realizing this new construction.
