The temporary barriers at the Crematoriumlaan–Paddepoelsterweg cycle path intersection on Zernike Campus will be replaced with a permanent layout 17-21 August 2026.
Van maandag 6 juli 07.00 uur tot vrijdag 17 juli 18.00 uur is de Oosterhavenbrug in de Europaweg in Groningen afgesloten, vanwege noodzakelijk onderhoud. Dit wordt in twee fases uitgevoerd en zorgt voor verschillende afsluitingen.
The University of Groningen (RUG), Hanze and the ACLO are joining forces to build a new Sports Centre on Zernike Campus. The new building will be constructed next to the current Sports Centre. Construction work is now underway. Pile driving starts 3 July, 2026.

Since 2023, the Groningsche Cricket and Hockey Club (G.C.H.C.) has been working towards its ambition of creating a larger and more professional clubhouse. The first phase of the renovation, focusing on the interior, began in December and has now been completed. G.C.H.C. is delighted to announce that the second phase of the clubhouse renovation will officially commence on Friday 3 April 2026.
During the summer holiday period, bus lines 4 and 5 to Leek and Roden will run more frequently in the afternoons and until 9 p.m. on weekdays. Both lines will operate three times per hour, resulting in at least six buses per hour between P+R Hoogkerk, the Central Station, the city centre, UMCG and P+R Kardinge. On Sunday afternoons, line 5 will also run more frequently to Meerstad and Harkstede, increasing from once an hour to every 30 minutes. Line 312 to Gieten and Stadskanaal will operate twice an hour on Saturdays during the day instead of once an hour. Line 109 from Assen and Peize to Zernike will run hourly on weekdays during the summer holidays. Services between Groningen and Lauwersoog will also increase, with bus line 63 operating every hour throughout the week. However, until Saturday, 15 August, there will generally be fewer bus services on weekdays due to the summer holiday timetable. From 29 June to 3 July, additional buses will operate on Q-link 1 between the Central Station and Zernike and on Qliner 309 between Assen and Groningen. Construction work at Bloemsingel 1 in Groningen has been underway for some time. The building, which will become the permanent home of University College Groningen (UCG), is undergoing a thorough renovation and sustainability upgrade. Additionally, new construction is being added to the north side, designed by architecture firm Elephant / Taller. Last week, contractor Hegeman B.V. from Nijverdal began realizing this new construction.
The construction of the final section of the Feringa Building of the University of Groningen has reached a new milestone: the Friso-Koopmans construction consortium achieved the highest point of the second phase (approx. 10,500 m² GFA) last week. With this milestone, the completion of the Feringa Building - one of the largest and most advanced university buildings in the Netherlands - is one step closer.
